Kirby is ok, a bit of a goofball. I wish Dave Harmon was back, then pair him with Brian Smith.

I like Carlton's goofiness and out right enthusiasm for bike racing.
And his regular partner Sean Kelly is getting better with the years

Bob roll, Phil Liggett is annoying, spouting a lot of useless info with that Ivory Tower Elitist British attitude...

I know I am probably amongst the 7 in the USA that follows Professional cycling but come on, how about some simple info.
How many mph are they going, what is the temp and humidity, the wind speed and direction etc.

NBC coverage is even worse, I watch 2 minutes of cycling then 5 minutes of commercials...

Bloody Bollix...

I like Carleton... Sean Kelly has some great insights on the day to day life of aro racer and tactics.

The only problem with kelly IMO is that he needs to take classes to talk better or something, maybe to learn how to make his comments more fun? A little bit of sarcasm would be awesome to keep people entertained.

He has the job because of his experience and knowledge of cycling past and present. His media skills have improved over the years, as a rider he was famously monosyllabic.

I doubt he would dumb down to satisfy the TV audience.

It's hot and windy. They don't have the time to tell you how hot or how windy. And how could they possibly know? -- it's not like someone could take a thermometer with them on the race course.

Are we talking about the same Carlton Kirby who described a rider's drug ban as 'sitting on the naughty step'?

Kelly and Sherwen are worth hearing. Everything else is just waffle.
