I would have been happy with Cancellara, Van Avermat or Vanmarche winning. I didn't want Vandeburgh to profit from 40 km of wheel sucking, so I'm happy he was off the podium.

Sagan didn't have any teammates for the last 70 km or so, which had to hurt, but neither did Cancellara. Dropped by Fabulous - seemingly at will - again. Ouch.

I don't mind getting up early and pirating - but the resolution is so bad it hurts. I can't recognize individual riders half the time. I'm astonished that pro racers don't have their EFFING NAME on their kit or helmet. How many team sports don't bother to identify the players?
Sprint jinx? Not for Cancellara, not in Flanders - VeloNews.com

Gotta respect Cancellara - at this stage of his career, the old dog worked hard and learned a new trick (sprinting).

The numbers are not visible from front or side, and often those are the only camera angles. I'm thinking first few letter or name, or initials, on the front of the helmet in 4" tall letters. "SAG" or "CAN" or "BON" etc. Of course RVV finishing group would have been "VAN" "VAN" "VAN" and "CAN".

I'm thinking his endurance will increase as he matures. Having stronger teammates would help too.

I do remember a few years ago one of the channels I get did show the Giro, maybe Universal Sports...guess someone else has the rights now.
Fishing is only a sport if you are Jeremy Wade.

Cancellara is as canny reading a race as they come. I think this is his most formidable attribute. You can be strong and be a formidable sprinter all you want, having race-reading skill trump all skills. My money is on him at Paris-Roubaix. If the guy is in the final train at any of the classics, bet on him!

And I agree totally on Vandeburgh!

I'm happy to have BeIN - I always thought some USA channel should just rebroadcast Eurosport instead of having Paul and Phil and Bob live at every event... cheaper production = more cycling coverage.

My DVR picks up everything that has cycling in the subject so I don't have to go looking for it. For Flanders though, I made triple sure it was on the schedule.

Does anyone have an extra 2016 Flanders entry I could buy? Some friends and I are interested in the middle (133k) distance but it's sold out. Let me know because we already have everything booked, except the entries!!
