Seems he would only be a part time road rider in 2015, if he really plans on competing in the 2016 Olympic track events. And he'd be at track weight, meaning he could only really be competitive in the flat classics. Does OGE want to sign a pricey rider just for Paris-Roubaix and a few other races? For that matter, does Sky? As for Wiggins, if he crashes and is injured on the cobbles, that could derail his track preparation, is it really worth it?

Matt White said Wiggins is “definitely a rider who would fit into this group”. That pretty much sums it up. Sky seems to be a team that just sucks the life out of riders until they finally get tired of it and move on. I think it would be a good move for him.

The politics of whether Wiggo is selected for the SKY TDF team is interesting, so are the latest comments from Froomey. May be an interesting event should they end up in the same team.

Wiggo is an excellent rider, but IMHO, he does not currently fit on the SKY Team. The 2012 TdF he won was because Froome was held back to tow Wiggo up the mountains. Personally, I think Wiggo should focus on the classics and/or track cycling.
I mean, Froome is presently the best GC rider on SKY, and how does Wiggo help him in any grand tour? And then add the drama between the two, and I can only conclude it's bound to be distracting.

If I were Froome, I would not pick Wiggins for my TdF team. Wiggins is a powerful rider for sure, but Sky has a lot of strong domestiques.

A Wiggo/Froome battle on opposing teams for the TdF would make an interesting storyline.

Although Wiggins did take almost 2 minutes off Froome in the two time trials, in the 2012 TdF.

That means next to nothing since Froome was doing domestique duty. It's actually surprising he didn't lose more time either from the fatigue of working for Wiggo or by saving himself for upcoming stages.

So its official.....Wiggo will not ride TDF, from his own mouth. I dunno if he'd be a good fit for Orica tho'. That's a team that doesn't suffer prima donna's and let's face it Sir Wig is a prima donna.

Froome does not want Wiggins, because he is scared that Wiggins may do what he (Froome) tried to do in the 2012 tour and get away with it. Froome is still whining about having to the job he was payed to do in 2012.

You are probably correct at this stage, but I still have about 5% of hope left that you may be wrong. Let's see what happens in Criterium du Dauphine and Tour de Suisse.

Froome doesn't want a ****** on the team. Neither would I. Wiggins has zero chance of winning the Tour again... unless, as Wiggins hopes, all the other gc guys crash.
And if you want to blame anyone for 2012, blame "Sir" Brailsford.

I'm sick of Wiggins crying like a schoolgirl, every time his panties get in a bunch.
Then, go off and "focus on track" when he doesn't get his way. Boo frickin hoo
“If he crashes there, there’d still be a chance I could come into the team,” Wiggins said. "As it stands, all being well, Chris staying fit and healthy that’s the team that’ll roll out of Harrogate."
Yeah Wiggins is a class act
