Average 46.3 km/h that's slower than yesterday's cobble stage, that's a bit surprising! Maybe because yesterday was a good bit shorter.

And there were no significant breaks trying to stay away or get chased down.
Yesterday was relentless action.

I don't know where you got that. This 2014: Stage 6 Results | Cyclingnews.com says Contador finished 20th.

Rubbish. Hernandez is a team mate of Contador.

Am I the only one who fell asleep watching this stage? At least now we know what it takes to beat Kittel in a sprint.

Actually for a flat stage it wasn't so boring. The peloton seemed pretty nervous at few points, there were bad weather conditions, some splits... and the last kilometers were great too, compared to regular trains.

How far out was Kittel when he flatted?

I agree, it was a decent stage.

To bad about Kittel's puncture. Shimano really worked hard all day today to get the win only to see it come to nothing.

Kristoff has been impressive in the sprints. Renshaw not so much.

Nice to see Andre get one today. He looked like he did it alone to.

I don't think anyone will challenge for the green jersey until Sagan retires! I know the guy is really good, but the point system is a problem. It doesn't give a rider a real chance to catch-up once your down. All Sagan has to do is be close in the intermediate sprints and he's got it.

My bad, it was his teammate. I had the volume low at my desk and tried listening closely and could have sworn they said a couple of times that it was Contador who dropped out.
