anyway i just thought it was hilarious because it sounded to me like phil heard what he said too and was amused by it!

Yep, we heard that, quite funny. Definitely seemed like the announcing crew caught it as well.

My wife and I watched the race from 32nd Avenue in Wheat Ridge yesterday.

Here's one of the first three in the lead group:

Here's the photos I managed to get if anyone's interested: https://www.flickr.com/photos/shoupi...57646409381799
I make no guarantees of the quality, I really wasn't trying that hard and more interested in watching the race.

Overall though, it was fun and my toddler liked watching all of the bi'kles ride by.

Problem with here vs Europe (and even Utah) is the altitude we're at. You're at 8,000ft + surrounded by peaks up to 14,000. Planes have to maintain at least 1,000 above the highest obstacle in the area which often puts it into icing conditions. I doubt that the aircraft NBC uses are certified for flight into known icing which means they are grounded on days like stage 5. The elevations are a lot lower over in Europe which means they can still fly without going high enough to encounter ice.

Freakin' DVR! I missed the ride into Denver (maybe it was NBCs fault?) and I also happened to miss the ride into London on Stage 3 of the TDF

Yeah Phil said that the last two hours would be on regular NBC. It pissed me off because i had set my DVR the night before to record it (on NBCSN)
