Well, my sprinters got shutout today and boy, I really needed the points.
Bouhanni was nowhere to be seen, and Benatti, the "sprinter", is just baby sitting Contador in this tour. Remind me to never root for him again!
My GC hopes are long gone, so I can only hope that Talansky, Pinot Hesjedal or Cunego, can get some points to keep me from being totally embarassed!

Yeah, scored nicely with Hesjedals win today, although I'm so far down, it didn't make much difference.
Both Pinot and Craddock out for me, but no loss in Pinot, who was nowhere to be seen here. TDF fluke?
Is Bouhanni out of the tour now? He was really the ace in my line-up...

I couldn't seem to make the "join" link work, so I've just been adrift for a while. Too bad, I was running high up early on but now I'm slipping backwards. Today I finally had the "join league" link work for me and, while I thought I was going to come in at mid-peloton, I showed up in spot #2 . What the heck is this league, the Velogames Grupetto?

vuelta is always the toughest fantasy decision-making process for me.
not only do you hafta factor in injury, lack of form, historical performance,
the route, actual team leader, value in point cost and rider vs rider matchups,
you gotta decide which riders are gonna bounce after a week or so for the
worlds (sagan, martin, etc).

Well it's about time someone came by! I don't have the legs for the big finale but I've been dangling there in second place for an eternity with X Merckx the Spot. I thought you all were just going to leave me hanging out there in no man's land.

Gonna be close. I need Contador and Froome to go close to 1-2 in the TT tomorrow. EZTDRA still got me by 850.

I had a nice run for a while there but in the end did an Uran. A lesser man might go looking backward toward past dominant performances like, oh, I don't know, Le Tour. Ha ha, oh well, I'll guess I'll be more noble tomorrow.
Well won in our humble little league, EDZTRA. And well played to many. Hasta la Giro, or maybe I'll rally up for the complicated spring classics league.
And keep up the chatter, Giacomo!

Will do, thank you!
And let me start the chatter with an evaluation of Team Stars and Stripes and my stupendous last place finish...
To start, I only remembered to enter about 15 min. before the Veulta started, so I really rushed it and didn't even spend the 100 pts.. But hey, no excuses, I picked a lousy team.
Ryder Hesjedal - Although a longshot and never mentioned with the top dogs, he was my big GC hope, and I think he might have been in the fight had he not been caught out in an early crosswind flat stage. Why he didn't see the split coming and why he was riding so far back is a mystery, but he blew his GC chances right there. Came back for some good stage finishes though.
Andrew Talansky - I had some hopes he would come out like a "pit bull" after bowing out of the TDF, and have the same comeback in this tour that Contador and Froome did, but he was nowhere, and I only saw him once the whole tour.
Damiano Cunego - had a good tour with a 3rd place and he was in 3 breaks and had some chances. In one, FDJ ran them down on a mountain stage for some reason that only they seem to know, when nobody else cared. He really could have won that one. He also supported well.
Thibaut Pinot - after such a good TDF, I thought he was a decent bet, but wow, I never even caught a glimpse of him all tour.
Danielle Benatti - ha! I got screwed there. He was my "sprinter", but he was just babysitting Contador and never challenged for a stage win. 8 pts. for a domestique? Sheesh!
Fabian Cancellara - good pick and scored pretty well. Would have been nice to see him finish and do the last TT, but I found out he's never finished a Veulta. Record intact!
Lawson Craddock - I wanted to give a solid, young American rider a shot here, and he did well, although he went out half-way through. Only cost me 4 pts..
Phillipe Gilbert - solid tour all-around, but I thought he missed a few chances to win. Some stages looked tailor made for him, but no dice.
Nacer Bouhanni - my wildcard, and wow, he had a great tour. Solid performance and my big point getter. The sprint field was a bit weak and he took full advantage of it.
So there it is, the good, the bad, and the ugly!
