    Saddle Style Choices

I was wondering what riders here tend to put on their road bikes that don't stay on the road. The sleek mounts like Fizik Antares, or a more mountain biker WTB saddle?

I've owned and ridden a cross bike before that I used as a 365 days a year commuter, and rode with a Ritchey Sleek. But this next one I'm getting is going to see more dirt and gravel than snowy/wet pavement.

My gravel bike is currently running an old Fizik Aliante Delta (low-end OEM version of the Aliante). The "hammock" shape works well for me as it lets me shift my position quite a bit during the course of the ride. I'm out of the saddle enough on gravel that I find little need for cutouts or channels. It's a brick compared to my road bike saddle (a Williams Aurora SLC) but for me the peace of mind from chromo rails and a strong base on a long, unsupported ride in the middle of nowhere is worth the weight penalty.

So far, nobody on a TdF saddle.

I'm actually pretty set on getting a PRO Vanderham Saddle, which I know is a "freeride" saddle, but I sure like it on my XC bike. And it's quite firm despite the padding, but best of all it has a durable nylon cover that doesn't "allow" shifting. (I know some probably hate that feature)

I bought a WTB Pure Race Saddle because it didn't have any leather, I wanted something that didn't have issues getting wet and muddy:
