Why so huge? You've got quite a range of tread, but all the same 40c width. Where are you going? Conti Cross vs Little Big Ben is a big jump.

It would be awesome if the levels of this bike were called 1st, 2nd, etc. Then you could ride it up a hill a few times and say you repeated the second grade

My bike mechanic confirmed 40c and maybe 42c is doable if the thread is less aggressive.
I haven't seen the new Panaracer Gravel King 700 X 40 on Panaracer's website. Do you know when it might be out?

Yeah thats rough priced $400 more then the Tiagra model ($1099) the 105 ($1499) has the same wheelset as Tiagra but it does offer a 11sp 105 drivetrain compared to the 10sp on the Tiagra but does have hydraulic brakes, might be $400 worth of stuff....

Lucky you! All my local GT dealers only have bmx stuff and have no idea what a gt grade is, you deserve a cookie.

Much better than down 1 cent.
Took this bike's main rival (in price point, features, and component level) - the Felt V85 - on test rides a couple of days ago. Looking forward to giving this one a test ride too. The colors are a little better on the GT Grade, imo.

GT grade alloy X is up $1699
it was up the other week but only size 60 now they have 55 58 60, 51 sold out quick and 55 sold out but is now back up (09/10/15)
PB has 20% back on all 2016 model bikes through this month so i went ahead and ordered a alloyX 55 the other day, will have a picture/weight up soon

Picked the AlloyX up last night! Needed a few adjustments after my first ride
Size 55 from factory 19.91lbs on my feedback sports scale
Then with reflectors off, and put on 2 water bottle cages, M770 pedals, cadence/speedo meters it weighed in at 21.25lbs
My GT road bike is just under 20lbs so i didnt gain that much, and could save some on AlloyX with some XTR pedals and lighter/tubeless wheelset
Bike seems loaded with great components and with the 20% back i was able to do a small shopping spree

I agree. GT is producing a quality bike at a good price. A few months ago, I rode an AlloyX and all things considered was very impressed. So much so, I impulsivley bought a NOS Zaskar 29er Elite for $950 out the door. I have beat the hell out of this bike and it has not skipped a beat. Its a solid, good handling SLX/XT bike for under a grand.

After reading all the great reviews on the GT Grade, I wanted the Grade alloy drop-bar so very much but none of my LBS have any for demo, no even PB. JensonUSA currently have them on steep discount but sadly not available in my size XS for 5'9" with 29" inseam. Now I am considering the similar spec Grade allow flat-bar version. Has anyone ridden one and how does it perform over the drop-bar on dirt/gravel road? The Specialized Diverge A1 will be my 2nd choice and more easily available locally.

I wish GT would offer a carbon grade with SRAM Force 1x with a 10-42 cassette. I'm waiting and waiting for a carbon 1x gravel/adventure bike with wide range gearing...

I have a Grade Alloy Sora demo bike coming next week. I specifically requested on of the lower-priced models so that I could see how much bike you could get for under a grand. Should be fun.

Yes please do post how it handle when you demo it, both on paved and unpaved roads. Nice to see how's the ride quality on the lower priced GT Grade alloy version.
