i am thinking of getting State warhawk Single speed cyclo-cross frameset

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

I am thinking of getting State warhawk Single Speed cyclo-cross frame for $229.00
free S&H and go 36X18 or 39X18 for Cross training on the road to work on my leg muscles
for bike touring and I don't think I will do SS cyclo-cross racing

I had one with the stock build kit for a couple thousand miles. It was the best handling bike I've ridden on the road, something about my fit and the bike's geometry just clicked.

However, I found the build quality very poor. The welds were thick, uneven and had left noticeable spatter in places on the tubing. There was a dent near the seat tube/top tube junction that was present in the tube before painting and must have happened during or right after it was welded together. Perhaps they've ironed out the issues as mine was early production from last fall. The frame/fork is also very heavy, built up stock mine was around 28-29 pounds.

I sold mine once I had more money to get something nicer and haven't regretted it. It's a very good budget option but be aware there are some potential pitfalls.

Also; the past few years State has done a 20% off everything coupon on their site near Black Friday (November 27th this year) so it may be in your best interests to wait. I purchased my complete during this sale and saved a ton over the full price.

Here's mine with the final set-up before I sold it. Really a nice riding bike.
