2013 Specialized Crux Elite
My LBS had this leftover from 2013. Rode very nice but I guess the canti brakes are outdated compared to recent models with discs which keeps it on their floor. I'm almost 50 so I'm not doing anything so hardcore that canti brakes wouldn't be fine and I can probably get it for $1100/1200. Good deal?

you could do a lot worse. i would also ditch the canti's for some mini-v's if you go with this bike.

Good bike. Nothing wrong with the Tektro cantis. I've kept them on my Black Mountain CX bike for 3 years now. I did change to Kool Stop pads after a year.

I recently picked up this same bike used. The guy I bought it from had it set up as a SS. He had also switched the brakes out to TRP mini V CX8.4 brakes as lvick recommended. I like the brakes so far. They're easy to adjust and have plenty of stopping power for this Clyde.
I just finished building it up with Ultegra 11-speed. I've only done a couple of rides so far.

Well. After further review, I just picked up this Diamondback bike on sale from Jenson. I never put a bike together before so figured it would be fun and how can you beat it for $850 or so shipped? For the price, I'll make it fit. If not I can always flip it. Can't wait to get it. Looks like a nice component set.
Thoughts?

Got my Haanjo and put her together last night. Got it out for a 21 mile ride today. All is well. Solid bike with nice components all around. Unbelievable that it was $850 at Jenson.
