It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Any updates on narrowing your choices. I have used my RX 2.0 on my local rail trail having blast running 700x35 Clement USH tires.

Cruisers were ridden on roads that were unpaved Between Farms for decades

before the market got people to compete for high cost bike sales to ride on the same roads ..

Glad you all are doing well and can afford those nice, expensive, Bikes ..

The market place has been promoting the Gravel bike , not that long ago you bought a bike and rode it
where you pleased no special set of bikes just called gravel grinder bikes special tires etc.

Out here the many Roads to haul out logs are steep winding and yes graveled . people buy mountain bikes .

Cruisers work great on pavement as well, I assume you're riding one and not an expensive road bike, yes?

Only as a beach rental. I didn't really care for how it rode.

Why post at all if all you have to say is passive aggressive and snide and its undeserved?

1) I am also. Considering getting a gravel bike. I was looking at a 2015 GT alum grade due to positive reviews and listed at $700 spring sale. Curious, why did you stop considering the GT grade?

Also I currently have a long haul trucker which I have yet to use for a tour and feel might be overkill for my bike commute to work which is 14 miles round-trip and contains serious hills. (Two miles of which look like a toddler drew it with about 4 consecutive squigles. I was interested in trying a fixed gear but these hills may make me curse my susceptibility to concepts that are "novel" to me. 2) Anyone confirm or talk me back into Fuji track bike (around same price as the gt, plus then I could try the velodrome!)?

3) Does anyone have an opinion on whether a gravel bike would replace a long haul trucker/touring bike or be redundant in anyway?

4) Are the gains significant enough to notice going from touring bike to gravel i.e. I am hoping for faster and more efficient on climbs. I love the idea of getting to experience fast road riding and possibly group rides. I am a mountain biker and figure I would probably be picking my new fuel (also in my near future) over a gravel bike for single track however the ability to randomly check out gravel or dirt roads and occasionally try flowy trails sounds PERFECT. My main concern is, if I get a gravel bike, is it fast enough on the road that I wouldn't feel I'm missing anything from a road bike?

I would guess based on this that he can't afford nice, expensive bikes, and is upset that others can. Or he is angry that our purchases contribute to companies profit margins and therefore development, when we should clearly all be riding cruisers on gravel roads in between farms, or something.

OP, nice choice! I have always liked Cannondale's offerings, and that looks like a sweet ride.
