Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Any Salsa Warbird, niner Rdo, or cann. Slate owners out there? Looking for info.

Hello,i am looking to get a new gravel bike. I am torn between the salsa warbird carbon rival,Niner Rdo apex, or the Cannondale slate Ultegra.
I plan on riding gravel and paved roads just to get to gravel roads/rails to trails. I plan on doing some longer rides on this bike but probably not overnight packing. Any pros and cons on these 3 bikes? Thank you.

I own a Niner RLT 9 RDO - 29er wheels, Schwalbe G-One 35's, Ultegra Di2, carbon everything. Built it up myself.

I would be happy to answer specific questions not addressed in the links above where you can see many photos. I can say that I beat the crud out of it and love it. It rides like a high end endurance road bike on pavement. It easily handles the type of riding described and much more.

Here it is with lights and Apidura frame bag, set up for a long grave ride which started in the pre-dawn hours. I'm currently researching and have just started purchasing gear for bikepacking and have zero hesitation.

You are welcome. It was the build of a lifetime.

I hope others chime in about the Warbird and Slate. The Warbird was on my short list and the Slate can be build light.

Here is a Slate which took the owner to two podiums. People either love it or hate it but you can't argue with wins.
