Specialized S-Work CX

Does anyone one know if Specialized is still making the S-Works CX bikes? I know that Andy Jacques Maynes works & rides for Specialized, but I haven't seen any new cross bikes from Specialized this year. Additionally the Specialized web site does not make reference to a cross bike.

I just emailed Specialized about this- they said:

"Response (Harry) - 12/07/2004 10:35 AM
It sounds pretty positive that we will be bringing a CX bike back into the fold
next season. As far as specs or pricing, etc goes, I have not heard. Stay
tuned..."

I think letting them know people are interested can only encourage them

Andy J-M's bike is a prototype. He had this to say about it in an cyclingnews.com interview this month.

CN: What can you tell me about those prototypes you're riding this year?

AJ-M: I had two prototypes built up. They are the same frame, prototype '06 Specialized cyclocross bikes. They have cool shapes on them. Like the top tube, it's flattened out to help out the shouldering aspect. I lifted up a normal frame with a round top tube earlier today and I hated it! It felt so bad. I can't imagine going back to anything else. The rear end on the bike has tons of clearance, it's more like a mountain bike. I haven't been able to clog it up at all!

as per my other post...

Specialized now has the 2006 models- totally new cross bikes and an S-works frame and fork. They aren't really listed on the webpage yet, but you can find them by searching thru the Specialized site. And they can now be ordered (my shop is getting me one in a couple weeks). as mentioned by another poster, the webiste does not yet provide geometry...

Hey Scoti
I have a buddy that owns a shop and sale Specialized and I have seen the late 2005 catalog and they have a new cross bike on its way!!! Plus they’re going to come out with a set of cross wheels! So go to your local Specialized shop and ask them for info.
