2006 jake the snake colors
So I just went and looked at the new 2006 jake the snake on Kona's website (it's the second link under news for the 2006 bikes). All I can ask is, does it look better in person? From what I see on my screen, oh man, that is ridiculously bright. Perhaps a more subtle color in person or is it really that obnoxious? I guess judging from their 2005 pictures those are definitely lighter than what the bikes look like in person.
Oh well, still a good bike I suppose, but I was just curious to see.

I prefer the 2005 Blue JTS - I'm glad that I didn't wait for the 2006. Although I also bought a 2005 bright red Motobecane.

I don't like the whole things with the seat stays being a different color than the rest of the bike, I like the wierd full colored bikes they had before 2005.

The color is irrelevant. All you'll really need to see is maybe the top of your handlebars and the trail rushing towards you. All of the other riders should only be seeing your seatstays from behind. Everything else is just muddy brown. After all, it's a 'cross bike. If it's a good ride and it has the characteristics and features in what you want in a bike, then just hand over the green and go for it!

I am glad I bought the 05, otherwise I'd have to wait another 2 years to see it in a color that didn't make me retch.

This is what I'm talking about, Think this looks much better than the newer colors, I even like that snot green better than the newer ones, the new ones are just too plain. At least the snot green is creative

I believe those were team colors. One year they changed the team's clothing colors after they had already painted the bikes red and blue. So they were wearing orange and blue clothing on red and blue bikes... sweet!

The bright colors make for more contrast when you're splashing mud all over the frame. Then when you run some Michelin Wildgrippers on there you rolling a Technicolor-Cyclocross-Dream-Bike.
Don't forget some splash handlebar tape.

Kona definately uses some different colors for their cross bikes. I like my 2004 blue-gray Jake though. Looks pretty mean on a cloudy, wet day when I'm in my dark gear.

I seen the 2006 Snake on the weekend, its not more subtle in person
Its bright, i mean bright !
But its one of those things that grow on ya. Saleslady said the mechanic picked one up, hated it the first week, loved it ever since.
