Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

bb question

ok so the poprad 06 has an outboard bb by truvative and a crankset listed as "Bontrager Race Cross GXP 46/38"

why would you mix bb and cranksets if they are out board, where can you find just outboard bb's? and where can i find any info on a race gxp cranks (looked on the bontrage site)?

alexi the gxp name is also used by truvativ, so maybe bontrager is just using a truvativ crankset, and re-badging it

yeah i just found out that truvative and bontrager are owned by sram, so i think it's a bit of cross (no pun inteneded) grouping.

I'm leaving wensday, and should be back in the us friday, up for a ride?

Bontrager is owned by trek and has been for a while, and trek has a deal with truvativ to make all of bontragers GXP cranks. The reason you cant find any info on them is that they havent updated there website(wont be up dated till closer to `06). If anything i would tend to stay away form them because they are crap. The reason is say this is because there is play between the BB and the spindle of the cranks. They should feel solid and most of the time there is a knocking when you twist the cranks side to side. The only way to fix this is to get a new BB and on rare occasions a new crank. This happens on all of the Bontrager GXP cranks not just the cross.
