Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Oh yeah... I'm new to CX, but I have the first step... a bike!

I raced just about everything... Cross Country, Downhill, this year I started Road... now I have a new bike in the stable.. A KHS CX100. I was able to get this bike in a trade for web services, so I am super stoked to get out there and race. We have a great race series here in Ottawa, every Sunday until it gets too cold basically...

So I just took the bike out of the box and put it together... Any set up tips or tweaks I should know of?

Also, what tires should I go for. I only had some 23c road tires, so I just put them on, but what is a good tire for CX. Here in Ottawa, it's grassy to snowy.. with all sorts of ground softnesses (Is that even a word?)

If you could help, that would be cool.

And now, allow me to be a proud new Dad...

Maxxis Mimo Larsen's & Bontrager CX Jones will work very fine in Ottawa. See you in November after I get out of the Quebec Provinicial Series!

Hey there Arctic Hawk... did I get some photos of you racing last year, or the year before? If so, I've moved from behind the camera to infront of it!

Yeah, I'll see you for sure!

CX Jones eh? I'll look around Ottawa and see what is available. Thanks for the help there guys!

I am certain that you got pics of me in 2003 (with the Canadian flag & snow all over the grounds) & in 2004 on the very windy day. Both at Terry Fox! I'm happy that you decided to give cyclocross a crack! You're going to love it!

See you at the races!
