Cyclocross Resouces
Hey All, I'm very new to CX and currently building up a SS CX bike (will post pics when finished). I'm looking for a collection of links and other resources that will help learn the basic of the sport.

www.idahocyclocross.com has some links to videos of some of last year's cross races, and www.cyclocrossworld.com is always a good resource for spare parts/bikes so is www.aerocyclos.com. Check out Simon Burney's Book; Cyclocross. The equipment information is a little dated but the advice on dismounts, sizing, training... etc are quite good. Are you sure you want to ride SS? I mean "good on ya" if you do but that's a hard way to race.

It's not much of a strech for me. I've been riding SS MTB and Fixed Road for several years. Also, I'm building this bike on the cheap, and SS is cheap.

Good for you.. I've seen some guys in the past who had never ridden a SS try to do it in a cross race and needless to say they had a really hard time but you've been doing it for awhile so you'll have no problems. Not to mention it makes for a lighter and cheaper bike!

ss cross is awesome. in many ways it is better than racing geared. you will be fine. i've seen guys on single speeds finishing top 10 in lots of races. if you are already used to riding ss then you probably already have a good feel for how to conserve/keep your momentum. this is critical in cross. i raced ss for one year and then 2 years geared and now i'm thinking of going back to ss...or perhaps just having an ss pit bike. you'll love it!
