    Compact Frame

Ok, I'm upgrading to a Gaint TCX this year. Undecided if I going with the frame and fork or the new complete bike depending on the specs of the complete bike. Should know after my boss gets back from the shows in September. Well anyways I'm getting the hell bugged out of me becuase it's a compact frame. I'm getting told that you should only race traditional frames. I say BS. I can still get a compact frame on my shoulder without a problem. Opinions?

It's your bike and nobody else's. Whatever you lose in the shoulder carry, you'll be doing better on the more numerous suitcase carries. Like everything it's a compromise. You pick what trade-offs you want to make.

^^ that doesn't look like a compact frame? It looks small but it does not look like a sloping TT. Personally I would not want a compact but if you tried it and it works for you then...well... there ya go...

The Giant is one of the MOST compact of the compact cross frames. I ride a Kona, which is semi-sloping, and have no trouble shouldering. I should point out, moreover, that it's nice to have a sloping top-tube when you slip in the mud on a mount and miss the saddle.
when walking, just walk. when sitting, just sit. when riding, just ride. above all, don't wobble.
