Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

cross clinics near chicago?

Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone knew about any cross clinics around chicago? I'd like to try racing and I wouldn't mind learning a thing or two before trying it. Maybe it would be better to learn how to race by joining a race in a baptism by fire sort of way? Let me know what you think.

this might be what you are looking for. Not a clinic per say but great group of people that will let you get your feet wet. Lots of people doing it for the first time at the earlier event. Don't worry about what you ride,as long as its got wheels its fine.

By "earlier event" do you mean the one on the 14th? or is there two races each day? That looks like a lot of fun. I saw the post on here about the first one and saw the video but it looked like it was mostly people who knew what they were doing so I wasn't sure if newbies were welcome. I'll try to be there for at least one of them. Thanks.

Earlier meant the one on the 31st of March. Just one race per weekend. And "Newbies" are definately welcome. You will have fun.
