Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

help sizing a Jamis Nova :-)

Hi all!

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a Jamis Nova, but the LBS doesn't have one in stock Can some of you gurus help me with sizing this awesome steelie?

My measurements are: height: 6'1.5" (186.7cm), inseam: 89.5-90cm, sternal notch 155cm, weight 190.

Intended use: This'd be my main bike for road rides--where I ride you encounter plenty of dirt roads and bad pavement, hence my interest in a steel cross bike. Charity rides and light touring are also very high on the list. 'Cross races aren't in the near future, but could be on the horizon.

I'd probably be a 57 or a 60 (note: Jamis measures TT Center-to-Top)
The 57 has a TT of 58.5 and standover of 83.3cm (32.78")
The 60 has a TT of 60 and a standover of 85.7 (33.75")
Both have a BB height of 28cm (11.02")

The full set of numbers can be found here:
http://www.jamisbikes.com/usa/bikes/07_bikes/nova.html

I'd love to get your thoughts so I can feel good about ordering a bike--I'd hate to size it wrong...something that'd be a big inconvenience for both me and my LBS(!) I'm a big fan of 'try before you buy,' but in this instance it's a little difficult.

57 cm. The 60 will feel huge...

I'm 6'1" and would likely buy a 55cm in the new Jamis geo...

Mine is a size smaller than my regular road bike size (55 vs. 57), and it fit pretty well with the stock components, although my seat post is jacked up pretty high.

I think the top tube ended up being the same (57), so maybe size from that if you already know your road size.
