I just bought a used Sunn Cycloss. I'm curious to know what people think of this bike. For me (2 days in) it feels nice though pretty heavy and slightly unmaneuverable on street. Before I was on a borrowed Schwinn Madison singlespeed which was pretty sensitive. I don't know how much of this is just the tires though (slicks vs thinnish knobby tires).

Schwinn Madison is modeled after a track bike, though I don't know if its geometry is as compact as that of a typical track bike.
The knobby tires on the cyclocross bike will make the bike handle differently than when riding with slick tires on pavement.

The new Madison, IFIRC, is a 73.5 HTA and a 74.5 STA, depending on the size. This is probably significantly (1-1.5 degrees) steeper than your cross bike. As mentioned, the sluggish feeling is a combination of knobbier tires, probably at lower pressure than your Maddy, and the geometry. Take it over to the park, ride around on grassy, bumpy surfaces for a while, and appreciate the slacker ride of your cross bike compared to the Maddy.
Welcome to the fascinating world of pneumatic trail.
