Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

For racing and riding offroad?

If you are just riding on the road, you should get a touring/audax type tyre like a Schwalbe Marathon or Panaracer Pasela. These are serviceable offroad too. Just not good for going fast offroad.

I could run Vittoria 28s on my commuter bike(an old steel Lemond Tourmelat) with no problems. I think the Vittorias run a little small
