Looking for a good set of tires
I currently own a Cyclocross bike that I’ll never race but I do charity rides. I enjoy riding on roads and sidewalks 90% of the time and 10% of the time on bike trails through the woods. Most of these trails are established with crushed gravel but every once in a while I enjoy getting on mountain bike trails. I currently have Kenda Kwick Cross, 700 x 30c tires on my bike. I’m thinking about getting rid of them for something more “roadie” since most of my time is on dry cement. I have a few questions to the members on this forum:
1. Should I get 700 x 28c tires or 700 x 32 tires? 2. What brands and models would you recommend that gives little resistance on dry cement, good traction on dirt, and good puncture resistance? Thanks for your responses. -GadgetAdam |
I am currently running Michelin tranworld cities and find them to be fast on the street and still give plenty of traction for non-technical off road riding... http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=357127 . You could go with something more knobby but I would not if most of your riding is on the street.
I am running 32's but if I were you I would probably go with 28's for street performance. Based on reviews, it seems you really need to run a tire liner with these. I am doing so. |
