Need good ISIS BB
Hey all,
Well last Sunday's epic muddy slop-fest here in Portland Oregon-- the Cross Crusade Hillsboro race-- left my Truvativ GigaPipe (stock part on my bike) seized!!
Unbelievable.
Anyway-- now it's time for a decent one that won't give up the ghost after a little slops.
Can anyone recommend a decent ISIS BB with internal bearings? I'm not interested in purchasing a new crankset to accommodate external bearings.

i've had good luck with fsa platnium one's. i have one in my 'cross bike and one in my mountain bike. each bb has given me trouble free use for over 3 years now. i've never heard anything good about truvativ bb's.

+1. FSA platinum if you want reasonable quality for cheap. Of course, I've heard that reasonable is a relative term when dealing with ISIS. My own experience tells me that it's worked fine for a couple thousand miles.

Not light or cheap but SKF makes some really durable ISIS BB's:

I wore out the wicked light American Classic BB on my road bike after about 5000 miles. I replaced it with an SKF which elicits some wonderful reviews from those bloody Brits who can't help but ride their mountain bikes in the mud all day every day. The SKF is still relatively new but it spins like butta after 1500 miles. Someday I'll rebuild the American Classis with ceramic bearing and put it back on though. I'd have to check to make sure but I think it's a little over 100 grams lighter than the SKF.
BTW, my Soma Double Cross is Octalink. I hate having to tighten crankarms twice every season but I prefer to run 167.5mm crankarms on it for clearance and the new outboard bearing Ultegra Cranks would look positively weird with its semi-retro setup. I'd love to move the SKF over to the cross bike if I could only find a decent 167.5mm ISIS crank.
