Short answer: As much as you can.
One nice thing (IMO) about cyclocross is that the races are an hour or less, meaning you don't have to do mega
mileage to have some success. But it is
an endurance sport. Even if you are not road-racing during the summer, you should be riding the tough Tuesday group rides in your area, and getting miles in over the weekend. Oh, and don't forget your running.
