Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Snow/Ice Racing techniques

Tomorrow will be my 3rd cross race. The weather calls for 2-4 inches of snow on top of 2-3 already down with temps. of 24f. The course appears to be mainly flat with alot of grass humps. I just picked up some spikes for the shoes. Anybody have some tricks and techniques? Help me out.
Thanks

Okay, so no answers. Race over. What did I learn? Spikes, low tire pressure, the soft snow sucks you in, lean the bike more than you think. Every one I spoke with had at least one crash. Bikes flying sideways all the time, wild race, frozen fingers and toes. Mid-pack finish 31 of 78. Season is done.
