Ritchey crank recall...

I saw this on the road thread, figured it might be good to see here too because it affects their cyclocross-specific cranks.
"Ritchey Design has identified a potential safety issue concerning WCS and PRO Level Non-Drive Side Crank Arms (LEFT ARM ONLY). In certain cases, it is possible that the non-drive crank arm could fail or break unexpectedly. If this happens during cycling, the cyclist may lose control of the bicycle, which could lead to serious injury. Because Ritchey Design products are designed meet the highest industry standards, as a preventive action, and in the interests of putting the safety of its consumers first, Ritchey Design has decided to undertake a voluntary recall of all affected Non-drive Crank arms."
  • WCS Cross 130 bcd in black only (38/48 chainring combination)
  • Pro Cross 130 bcd in black only (38/48 chainring combination)
WCS and PRO crank recall

I'm affected, and I'll be getting a replacement crank arm soon. Hope this helps!

Man, their service is lagging. It's been over two weeks, and no RA number.
This was when I was explicitly told the parts are in stock, and they'll get to me 'asap'.

They're either overwhelmed or understaffed.

I don't want to have to get another crankset from this... grrr.

That stinks, I was thinking about buying one of those cranks for a project bike.

The newer ones over the last year or so don't have the problem.
