Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

I'm pretty sure it's just straight-gauge 4130 tubing.

so it is cromoly at least. i have mine set up with nice nice stuff and it still weighs 21 lbs. im not too conserned about weight, obviously i bought a steel frame, but i expected less. so the rob roy is a naked crosscheck with a bendy backside

Try a different fork. The stock IRO fork is a ****ing boat anchor.

Rob Roys are made of the same steel from which Conan's Atlantean sword was forged...invincible, of course.

I'm putting a super sweet Steelman fork on mine. The fork is worth twice the amount of the frame!

For what it's worth, a Rob Roy frame/fork still weighs less than a Cross Check frame/fork. I think there's at least a half-pound difference, mostly in the fork.
