Avid Shorty on 105?
Can I run Avid Shorties on my 2004 Axis, which has 105 levers? Thanks.

Yup. Cantis and sidepull brake have the same amount of cable pull. You cannot use V brake with your 105's.

I run Avid Shorty 6's with my 105 5600 levers.
As for not being able to run v-brakes - in general this is true. However, there are some solutions like the Travel Agent that sort of makes it work. I won't race on them though.
