potential issues changing to road fork?

If i wanted to put a road fork on my cx frame would this cause any potential problems im not aware of?
I assume cx forks are abit longer to accomadate bigger tires and that a shorter fork would change geometri abit but is this anything to worrie about?

I love my bike but i dont like the look of the alpha cx fork that much so when bike is serving as a commuter wich is like 90% of the time i would like a ti fork to match the frame, if this isent gonna cause any weird problems.

Any suggestions for a ti road or ti cx fork thats not to beafy looking?

    thx

You'll bring the front end waaaaaaay down. Your bike will handle awfully, if it's even rideable. Don't do it.

The axle to crown measurement on cross forks is much longer than on road bikes. I can't comment on specific numbers without knowing what fork you'd replace the alpha Q with, and the bike's geometry, but this isn't something you want to do.

Cross fork axle to crown is generally 395mm vs 368mm as found on road bikes. You are talking about lowering the headtube 27mm - that should have the effect of dropping the BB by about 1/2 that distance and increasing your HT and ST angles by ~3 degrees.

    Don't do it.

Sell your cross bike and buy a road bike. Or better yet, have both.
I'm not one for fawning over bicycles, but I do believe that our bikes communicate with us, and what this bike is saying is, "You're an idiot." BikeSnobNYC

    thx for comments.

I actually have a Ti roadie aswell.
Just thought id like the look of a slender fork on the cx better.
Maybe the www.kocmo.de cx fork is a good contender, any info on this 1?

if not im gonna go with yr advice and keep the fork the way it is.
im such a sucker for looks on bikes wich is since i ride all day long, and handling should be the main thing.

But i love beatuifull bikes :/
