Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Looking for a 56cm

Hey guys,

I tried cx for the first time last fall and fell in love. Unfortunately I was riding a borrowed rig and now its time to get my own. I'm only looking to spend ~$500, do you have any suggestions... or maybe you or a friend are looking to unload one?

Thanks

Are you talking about a frame or complete bike? Easy enough to find a decent frame for $500. It's not too easy to find a complete bike though. Maybe Bikes Direct has something close.

try the nashbar frame.... or the performance frame. Some people have had interesting things to say about them.

Bikes Direct has a couple of CC bikes if you trust doing business with them. I almost bought a Motobecane Fantom from them but never could get them to email me back to answer a "pre sale" technical question. They have a couple that are less than the one I was looking at. Good luck!

Also consider Soma, the Double Cross frame is $310 at BikeMania.
