hey, everybody with a crosscheck! question:

ok, i just ordered me a crosscheck, which i wont be building as a proper 'cross bike, but i know a few ppl on this board prolly have one, so i figgered this'd be the place to go with my question.

so, here it goes: what's up with that 132.5mm rear spacing? my wheelset has roadhubs (130mm); can i just run it as-is, or will the thing need something to keep everything snug?

seriously, no one here has built up a crosscheck with 130mm rear hubs? regular modern road hubs? i just need to know how to deal with any wiggling, what with the excess 2.5mm.

Cinch it! The steel stays are meant to squeeze down to 130 or stretch out to 135.

just put the wheel in there, and squeeze when you are trying to get it to close.

Mine has 135 hubs in it.

Yep - Just lock that skewer down on it, the steel is springy, and the bike is designed this way, so you can use either hub without any real tweaking. Guys running 135mm mountain hubs just spread them out a bit before they install the wheel, guys with road hubs just cinch them down more...
