Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Budget Cross Tires

Just passing along a link to some budget cross tires. Some are knobbies and some more street oriented. Buy a set of each depending on conditions.

whoa, i wouldn't use any of those for actual racing, except maybe in the hardest and driest conditions.

I've got a pair of those kross plus. They're fine for a beater, but no way would they be suitable for racing.

Agreed about racing. But there are a large number of rider on this subforum that don't race, like me. These are perfect tires for what we need. The price can't be beat either.

I agree. I don't plan on EVER racing. For the way that I ride, the road tread tires might be just a little wider than I would like but for that price, they really can't be beat.

what is a good budget option for racing? I just got a pair of Kenda Kross tires for $35, but I need some race tires ASAP as we have a race Thursday. What should I buy that won't break the bank?

Keep an eye on chainlove.com, Hutchinson Bulldog and Piranha cyclocross tires regularly show up for like $10-15/tire.
