Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

debating between ss cx framesets

well, I've made up my mind I'm going ss for cx this fall, but I need a frame set. I've narrowed it down to three frames, surly crosscheck, on one il pompino, or the iro rob boy, I don't have alot of money to spend so I'm looking for whats good for my price. I like the crosscheck because if i should ever decide to go geared i can, and the iro and il pompino are great because they're more track style frames that if i want i could probally do track races with. Which one would work best for me and my budget?

The Surly is really versatile! I've ran mine both 1x9 and SS.

I think I'd be just as comfortable racing a fixed Cross Check at the velodrome as I would the Pompino or Rob Roy, which is to say I'd definitely prefer something altogether different.

Don't make track-worthiness a criteria for your decision, or you'll be unhappy with your cross bike.
