CycloCross Selection & Link Page Comments? Suggestions?
Hi
We are really incresing our cyclo cross selection and thus CX shopper traffic
and we are doing a lot more advertising of this page which builds it's traffic
I want to be able to give CX types a place where they can find other resources easily
Here is the page with a few links:
https://www.bikesdirect-cross.com/
We will be adding 3 more models soon
and are thinking of other useful stuff we could add in the way of links, blog, comments, or such
I would really appreciate any input on this page and how it could be better
especially any extra resource links
Thanks
Mike

Looks nice. You went from 1 or 2 bikes to a very complete selection. How are the Uno models doing? Are they steel or AL?

The videos would be an excellent addition, jonestr!
I can't believe the white UNOs (steel) are sold out...it WAS predicted though.

What's truly amazing to me is how well recieved BD is in the cyclocross forum. In the road forum they're flamed a lot. IMO, BD offers a really solid product at a great price. Keep up the good work.

I've noticed the same phenomenon. Maybe it's because it's harder to find CX bikes at a given LBS? Because CX bikes are often a second or third bike purchase, and people are looking for the best possible value? Because more CXers are capable of building their own bikes (thus eliminating one of the major BD drawbacks), relative to the road crowd? Several in my road riding group are challenged to change their own flats or make minor der. adjustments. All of my CX-riding friends could strip and rebuild a bike in a few hours.
Sorry for thread drift.

Cool. Any chance for a version of the uno (steel bike) with horizontal dropouts instead of track ends? Perhaps too much product overlap.

A little of topic, but you should add normal brake levers to the single speed. I know that at that price a 20 dollar pair of tektros still makes it a god deal, but it just doesn't seem like they should be something a customer has to add aftermarket.
Otherwise, it looks like you're geting really creative with all of these cross bikes. Way more variety in price and style than a lot of manufacturers.
EDIT: but ya gotta ditch the cheesy "MSRP" and "compare to" stuff. Not a big deal, but really...

Compare to kind of makes sense since it's based on other brands with the same component groups. But MSRP on at least some of the BD bikes is totally bogus since the only place one can buy them is from BD since they own the brand (motobecane for example).

Are you calling my running mate a pig? ;D
Looks good, BD. I think the organization is a bit wierd, perhaps something a bit more vertical?
I'll be ordering my yellow CX tomorrow, soon as my paycheck is deposited. Been saving for a bit, and the recent raise cinched the purchase.

Except if the same company is advertising both with "compared to" prices, it does not make sense.

I, too, would LOVE to know what the "new models" may be, as I am seriously considering a purchase of a current model. I am curious about a Fantom CX with track ends, or essentially, an aluminum Uno.

Do the fuji and motobecane have the same frame, just under different names? And how do you know this?
