what aspects of the bike are you unhappy with?
those are the areas you should look into improving. Making changes just for the sake of bench-racing or throwing money away is quizzical at best.
that being said, if you race, get a good cheap set of tubie wheels and tires and shod them with something like a fango

I don't know how different it is from the 08, but first thing I did was replace the brakes. Those Tekro are Terrible. Next I installed barrel adjusters to the cable housing. Then I replaced the wheel set. Those Alex rims are awful and would go out of true after every race. I replaced them with a pair of mavics and put some skinny ritchey speedmax tires on. I then replaced the seat with a fizik arionne and am in the process of replacing the seatpost with a thomson elite. Finally I put new handlebar tape with new bar plugs (the specilized ones kept coming out) and threw on some extra carbon cranks.
I now have a savage super light single speed cross bike. I would be mad about having to put all that money into a practically new bike but I got it super cheap.
