Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Might as well buy now , since a "good" ( read : hyd. ) cx sti brake lever might take a while to r&d ...

I love my cross bike with cable-actuated disc brakes. The BB7 calipers I'm using feel just as smooth and effortless as many hydraulic systems that I've used.

What about this bike makes it "entry-level"? It looks like it's got some nice specs.

Could be lighter, the 105 isn't bad, the $900 price tag surely wasn't to bad. I guess it is entry level because I had been drooling over some nicer bikes.

Fair enough. Just don't be the guy who blames his bike for holding him back at the race.

I know the motor, if anything doesn't hold up, it's probably going to be the motor.

My recently finished Nashbar, I built it mostly out of spare parts that I had laying around. I need to get some new shifters for it, but I don't really want to drop too much money on it.

Nokons for muddy rides???.....Not really the brightest thing around.

Actually making a housing that needs carefully maintenance and lubing is kinda weird........
