Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Cyclocross sizing, and choice...

Hey guys,

I just wanted your help in figuring out what sizing I should be thinking of for getting a new CX bike, and also which one to get--

So far, I've ridden a vintage roadbike (which was 53 cm and the frame fit me perfectly). I assumed that CX has a slight slope in the tube, so a 50cm would make sense for me?

Also there are two bikes i'm lookin at; a specialized tricross comp 50cm (used) and a devinci tosca SL1 54cm (used)

both are going for 750, but the specialized is an '07, and the tosca is an '08.The specialized is stock, and the latter comes with two sets of tires (slick-nobbie), strada cadence computer, time pedals and the rest is pretty stock.

wht do u guys think?

Regardless of the advertised size of a bike frame, you should focus on the actual geometry and get something that has the same top tube length (virtual TT if sloping). Measure it if you have too.
