Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

What to pay for 2000 Gunnar Crosshairs

What is a fair price to pay for this bike equipped with Shimano 105 der. & cranks, Deore LX V brakes, Cosmos wheels, 853 steel frame. It looks almost brand new. Thanks

I'd suggest one of the best ways of establishing a price would be to use the Completed Items search on ebay. You might not be able to find the exact model, but you should be able to get a feel for depreciation. I did manage to buy a *really* nice 7005 bike with a Campag powertrain for about 200 - about four years old, but only raced for one season and almost showroom condition. But I think I was lucky - the owner was extremely honest and mentioned some almost un-noticeable headset centering which I think put some bidders off.

I just sold my 2000 Crosshairs a little over a month ago. It had a fairly similar spec (Tiagra shifters, 105 RD, FD, and crank, campagnolo rims with ultegra hubs). The paint was in decent, but not great shape. I ended up getting $600 for it.

Hope that helps.

I'm amazed at how cheap some Waterford and Gunnars go for used. They really are a best buy bargain in used bikes.

waterford bikes are custom so they depreciate a lot due to the limited market. I would also question why some one was selling a custom steel bike.

I was really surprised at how cheap I got it for in the first place. I think I paid like $565 originally.
