Another select my bike thread
Sorry for the lame thread but I don't know where else to ask.
I am thinking of trading in or selling my kona for a cross bike.
The LBS has (what I think is) an Axis in a real sexy Grey color scheme and sram rival for around $1400.
The cross concept is seriously nice but I can't see paying that much for upgrading to carbon fiber frame and ultegra components.
Only other option I have scoped is a motobecane from BD which is about the middle of the road pricewise.
I would really like to keep it around $1500, what other cross bikes should I be looking at? Is the sram hard to get used to and switch back and forth from a shimano equipped ride?
