Brake levers with no return springs- suitable for all cantis?

I just bought a set of vintage Campagnolo levers on eBay for a mostly Campy CX project. They were advertised as C-Record, and they are aero (cables run beneath bar tape). Found out a couple of hours later thru the Web that this model may not have return springs. I know that Campagnolo's older calipers were designed so that return springs on the levers were unnecessary, but I don't know how well they'd work with modern cantis. I have a set of Campagnolo HP cantilevers and a set of Tektro CR-520s (Just like the 720s but instead of black or matte silver, these are polished silver). Is proper operation simply a matter of setup and making certain the cables are tight, or must I have return springs in the lever themselves for best braking?

You should be fine without a return spring in the lever. The tektros or similar have enough spring in the caliper.

Thanks!

I got them from a seller called Zepnat on ebay. Just search for Tektro CR520. There's one auction going right now. I should add that they are not truly polished, but they are definitely shiny. You'll see the image in the auction.
