Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

My very first conversion!

My attempt at building a cross bike while on a tight budget.
2 years in the thinking/dreaming/making. Let me know what you guys think.
99% complete...just needs some fine tuning.

1992 Schwinn Crosscut - Total build cost: ~$250

Cool. The crosscut is a great frame. Lugged chromo, right?

Yup. Chrome-moly double butted frame and fork. Should survive anything....

Wait! You spend 250 bucks to build it up or is that how much the frame cost?

What size is it? I want to know if I should be pissed that you got it and I didn't (I'm in LA).

54cm frame...pretty flawless. Just a few nicks and scratches which were probably from moving one side of the garage to the other. The components (including pads) hardly had any signs of use. Am I rubbing it in deep enough yet?
I just got really lucky.

First thing that comes to mind when I see those first pictures, just like looking at a beat up car...at some point in the past some person was just thrilled to death and proud as can be to come home with that thing all shiny and new.
Great conversion though, looks really nice.

Ah good, a little too small. You can enjoy without my jealous envy.
