Cable Adjuster Questions

I am new to cyclocross and am building up a KHS CX200 frame that I bought from Bikeman. The frame comes with a two different sets of cable adjusters: in-line barrel adjusters and Jagwire screw-out adjusters that resemble the SIS adjuster that I am used to seeing on the down tube of road bikes. The front derailleur cable is routed on the downtube and the Jagwire adjuster fits into the cable stop - the rear derailleur cable is top routed and the Jagwire adjuster doesn't look right in the stop that is immediately next to the rear brake cable stop. Should I be using the in-line adjuster for the rear derailleur cable? For both? Or does the Jagwire adjuster really go into both derailleur cable stops?

Thank you for your help (and for helping me learn something)!

Are you referring to the cable stop on the top tube? If so - I would not put an adjuster there. If you're using shifters with externally routed cabling, I would put the adjuster in-line on the run of cable from the shifter to the top tube.

I have a similar question with old style Shimano external cable routing. Even though only the rear derailleur cable is top mount, should I use an-line adjuster for both derailleurs? (Actually, when I think of it, the rear derailleur already has a cable adjuster on it so why do I even need another one?)

Having the in-line adjuster up by the bars means you can make adjustments on the fly.
