Cross Levers Breaking - Anyone Else Having Problems?

I've had the rivet which holds the lever to the body of an cross lever come loose and fall off while riding on two separate sets of levers, one on the right side and one on the left. Neither bike was crashed, and the levers were about six months old when they failed. Both levers were made by Trektro, one a Salsa Cross Levers 2, and the other a Tektro RL720.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or do you have any idea what could be causing it?

Thanks.

Z.

It's the silver rivet in the photos which are coming loose and falling out.

Hello, I'm replying to an old post, but I'm having the same problem with a set of Soma cross levers. They are only 18 months old and the bike is not heavily used. Just wondering if this is a common problem?
