Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

27" CX tires?

Do such a thing exist? I'd like to put on something more agressive on the single speed road bike I'm building up. Hopefully it'll FIT whatever tires I find

How funny I did a google search and ended up there. $20/each is a bit steep but I might try it.

Will 27x1 3/8 fit any old 27" wheel?

Well in context, yeah. I paid $6 for the bike! Of course I'm going to have to spend $35-45 on a rear wheel for it anyway, if I can't find a used one to toss on it.

Yeah, its an old 10 speed, lugged steel frame, its the right size for me and it was cheap. Garage sale across the street. It was junk, really, and needs a fair amount of work. I'm turning it into a single speed road bike. Info here:

http://r2.hostrack.com/ryko/singlespeed.html

If I can get the brakes around those 27x1 3/8" tires, then I'll be set for the nasty roads around this area. AND I'll be signlespeed finally.
