Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Buy Phantom Cross Pro just for parts?

I test rode a Jake the Snake yesterday at my LBS and it fit me like a glove, but im not sure if I want to stretch my budget that far. I also really like SRAM. So for 1000 bucks I was thinking I could buy a Phantom Cross Pro and later buy a Kona frame for 450 and still come out to about the same price as the 1600 for the Snake. The only thing I gather is that I would have to get a BB30 adapter. Kind of a lot of trouble but it does seem like a good deal just for the rims and drive train alone. I think the rest of the bike is kind of bland.

I got a Phantomcross Pro about 2 months ago now off BD and I love it. You may be surprised at the quality of everything put together and not even need a new frame, but that is always an option. Definitely a recommendation from me, just try a Fuji cross pro (the one made in Taiwan) to make sure it fits you ok.

You're kind of correct. Buy the bike you like first. Good luck
