700x40 snow tires on Kona Jake?
I ordered Kona Jake about a month ago, and I am planning to buy snow tires because it snows a lot here in Hokkaido, Japan. However, I am not sure whether Kona Jake has enough clearance for 40mm tires to fit. I know Cyclocross Bikes has good clearance, but I am not really sure about huge ones like 40...
I was thinking about buying this:

I would try to find a studded tire in the 700x35 size.
My CX bike (a Soma Double Cross) will just fit a 700x38 and fenders. There is not enough space for ice build-up. A 700x35 fits with fenders and has some needed clearence for some snow and road grit.

I can tell you from experience that these are excellent tires on ice and have good flat protection. I have a Kona Jake with 35s and there is plenty of clearance, but a 40 would start cutting it close as you will want some room for ice buildup.

I road 700x38 schwalbe Snow Studs on a Jake the Snake. I'm not sure if the Jakes fork has the same clearance as the Snake. If so, 40mm pillows wouldn't be a problem.

Okay, I just bought a 35mm Schwalbe Winter Stud like suggested but my cyclocross bike has 33mm tire. Do you think it's okay to not change the tire tube and put my 35mm snow tire on a 33mm tube?

look at the range printed on your tube. 33 will usually go larger to at least 35 but, its manufacturer specific...and tubes are cheap if not. Don

Um, I researched online and people said that Tektro Oryx brakes (The one that comes with 2012 Kona Jake) is better with Kool Stop's V-Brake pads. Is that possible? I'm not really sure if they'll fit.
