Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Quick Question about Cyclo Cross

Does it run 12 months or just in the winter?

Generally the races start in Sept and run through Feb. But you can ride your cross bike all year around.

If you race, see above. There also were some races in the NE through March.

But if you just want to ride, I do year round. I use it as an alternative in bad weather or just want to rid esome dirt/trails where most people use a mountain bike

Here in SoCal Sept to end of Jan.

There is an April race at Sea Otter next weekend.

Some longer races in the spring I've heard of like Southern Cross in Georgia?

the top riders finish their season in the US, then they go To Europe,
where the season is a bit longer, then try to get up to the speeds,
those people ride.
