Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Left crank is shot - replace or new set?

Got a kaput SRAM Force left crank. Should I buy a new arm for $120 or get a brand spankin' new Rival crankset for the same price?

Last time I was replacing my large sprocket it was cheaper to replace both arms and sprockets, I did.

Whats busted on the arm? I stripped out the fixing bolt, and got a 5$ replacement off universal cycles.

If its stripped pedal threads, a helicoil may work.

Otherwise, I would wait and watch on ebay....thats what I did and got a nondrive crankarm for 25 bucks. (for a ultegra crank)

How is the rest of your crank holding up? if $125 gets your Force working why spend the same money to downgrade to a heavier crank?
