Sweet deal on Crank Brothers pedals
Browsing the CX Magazine website, I came across this information on a promotion Crank Brothers is running on a few of their pedals.
The skinny: you send them ANY clipless pedal and they'll sell you a new pair of Egg Beater 3, Candy 3 or Mallet 3 pedals for $60+ shipping. Add the CX Magazine code, and you also get a pair of shoe shields.
I've got a pair of the Egg Beater 3's and I can tell you that they are a nice pedal. As of 2011, the CB 2, 3 and 11 lines have better seals than older CB pedals did (and, I guess, better than the entry level models still do). The upshot of this is that they don't need to be rebuilt/regreased all the time the way the old pedals did. I've put about 2400 miles on a pair of Egg Beater 2's and about 750 miles on a pair of Egg Beater 3's, including seven or eight muddy CX races on each of them, and they're still spinning as smoothly as the day I bought them.
Anyway, enough shilling from me. I promise neither Crank Brothers nor CX Magazine is paying me for this or asking me to do it. I just thought this was a great deal and wanted to pass it on.

Thans for the heads up. I just happen to have an old set of spd pedals already boxed and ready to ship. I don't really have a bike for them at the moment, but FREE, upgraded, brand new parts in my parts bin sure beats well-worn but functional parts in my parts bin.

Heck yea... it falls under the definition of 'any clipless pedal'. it also doesn't specify whether working condition or not... because they don't care, they want you in a new CB pedal.

I'm sending them an old pair of MXRs. I wish I had kept the corpses of my Smarties.
